1201 Mason Street at Washington San Francisco, CA , 94108 Phone: (415) 474-1887 Website This FREE museum is located in the Washington-Mason working powerhouse (Where the cables are powered) and on Nob Hill. It houses a collection of historic cable cars, photographs, mechanical displays and gift shop run by the Friends of the Cable Car Museum - a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving cable car history. It is pretty noisy in there due to operating machinery. Sound sensitive people beware!
Machine 2 is in the Gift shop, far back from the entrance. No charge to get to the machine or admission to the Museum. Cost is 51 cents per roll and you use your own penny.
