614 Broadway New York City (Staten Island), NY , 10310 Phone: 718-442-3100 The Staten Island Zoo is an 8-acre suburban zoo in West New Brighton, Staten Island, New York City. The zoo is open year-round except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
The Staten Island Zoo might not be the largest or most exotic zoo around (its nickname is the "biggest little zoo"), but it is highly educational and acclaimed for its Serpentarium, housing an extensive collection of rattlesnakes. The zoo also cares for many warm-blooded creatures, with more than 800 species in all.

50¢ plus a penny each. Bring your own coins - no change machine. Located today in the reptile exhibit, but staff says they move it frequently to accommodate other things. Zoo is small and only has a few buildings so should be easy to find.
The snake coin presses slightly off center with part of the ‘O’ in Zoo cut off (tried twice with same result).
