Rue Hugues Cornier [D14] BOURGOGNE-FRANCHE-COMTÉ - Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses, France, 89220 Phone: +33 386 745 766 Website The 7 Locks of Rogny (Les Sept Écluses de Rogny) are an historic 17th-century canal lock system built as part of King Henry IV's grand project to connect the Loire and Seine rivers (the Briare Canal). This impressive staircase of six locks (later a seventh) allowed boats to navigate a significant 79 foot (24-meter) height difference but were eventually bypassed by newer, larger locks due to water consumption and delays, becoming a fascinating historical monument and tourist attraction.
