In 1985 (Showa 60), Tsukuba Science CityAfter the closing of the International Science and Technology Exposition (Tsukuba Expo), it was opened so that you can become familiar with the latest science and technology and familiar science[ 3]? It features one of the world's largest planetariums and a life-size model of the H-II rocket exhibited outdoors[4].

11/6/25: They've added a new design to the machine, so there are 2 designs now. The machine is across from the gift shop, near the restrooms at the entrance to the planetarium. Admission required to access the machine.
