You can ask to use the machine without paying to get in, and can access gift shop too.
Machine 1 is located behind the ticket counter, in front of the gift shop, near the entrance. Left hand side as you enter. Designs are:
1) “Colorado Model Railroad Museum” logo with front of a train engine,
2) “Colorado Model Railroad Museum” above and below an image of a side of a steam train engine.
3) “Colorado Model Railroad Museum” above and below an image of Stegosaurus,
4) “Greeley Stampede” under a silhouette of a person on a horse holding US Flag.
December 28, 2023: Know availability started in 2022. Not sure how long they had the machine. Just checked on it today and got four more. They are full and clean rolls.
7/5/2026: Machine was loaned out to Greeley Stampede for the event. Three dies were switched out to reflect Stampede with one train design from museum remaining. Unfortunately the machine was broken, jammed full of pennies that did not drop. Talked to someone at museum who said they will get machine back and fixed. Estimated time for machine to return to museum is a month, so it may be back and working by the end of August, 2026.
7/29/2026 Machine is back at the museum and located by gift shop entrance. Machine has been fixed and rolling both copper and zinc well. |
