Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has one of the largest collections of primates in North America and features Monkey Island, a concrete island on which a large population of Columbus Monkeys is kept in free-range conditions (without cages or walls).

6/3/2025 There are 3 new penny machines – the new machines are $1.00 per penny. Use single or credit/debit card. When you use credit/debit card charge is $4.00 and you crank to receive all 4 designs.
Locations are:
1 in the Asian Highlands in Wilderness Trek (Machne 20),
2 in the Primate Cat & Aquatics building (machines 21 & 22).
Machine 20: Asian Highlands machine: Seals, Cougar, Bison, Red Panda.
Machine 21: Octopus, Sloth, Tiger, Long Tail Lemur (I think).
Machine 22: Gorilla, and three others I don't know the name of.
We do not duplicate machine numbers for obvious reasons, confusion! The new machine numbers have been corrected.
12/27/2025 Inside gift shop they had an envelope of extras I was able to purchase some from.machines that are no longer available. They charged me $1 each. Machine 14 right when you first enter. Machine is off center on the Lion and Elephant, you have to level a little below the center to make it best possible. You provide penny and two quarters.
Machine 17 is across from wallaby walkabout and machine is working well aligned and well. You provide penny and two quarters
Machines 21 and 22 are inside the first set of doors of the Primate Cat & Aquatics building. Both machines are dollar bill or credit card only. $4 gets you all 4 designs. All came with provided pennies and were dispensed with zinc cents.
Machine 19 is right before you leave the trading post across from.the back of the tiger in closure. Requires a penny and 2 quarters. Machine is slight off center.
Machine 20 is currently not working .said currently it is not accepting card payment but dollar bill slot is not lit up either.
Machine 15 according to gift store staff has been removed permanently.
