This island location, part of the Mascarene Islands, is a former French colony in the Indian Ocean. This overseas department has exactly the same status as European France's departments (similar to counties) and regions. The French Constitution provides that, in general, French laws and regulations (France's civil code, penal code, administrative law, social laws, and tax laws etc.) apply to French overseas departments and is in essence, part of France.
La Cazanou in Hell-Bourg sells Madagascan and local craft products that include miniature Creole huts, key rings, punches and rums, films on and guides to La Réunion, as well as clothing, silver and fantasy jewelry. Manufacture and sale of local delicacies (chayote squash croque-monsieur, jams, etc.) are also here.

Hours of operation: Monday through Sunday 09.00 (9:00 am) to 18.00 (6:00 pm).

Admission: Free admission.

Machine 1 is outside in front. Uses €1 and 5cent coins per design. Designs all have a beaded border:
