Phare de Richard is a historic, picturesque lighthouse famous for its unique dual towers: the first 59 foot (18m) stone lighthouse was built in 1843 and a taller 102 foot (31m) metal one (the one visitors see today) was added in 1870. It is surrounded by iconic carrelet fishing huts on stilts, serving as a cultural landmark, museum, and scenic spot for exploring local maritime heritage, fishing, and landscapes. Today, the Phare de Richard site houses the Museum of Oyster Farming and Fishing, as well as a small museum dedicated to lighthouses and beacons.
