Comments:	The Chautauqua Institution is a not-for-profit, 750-acre educational center beside Chautauqua Lake in southwestern New York State, where approximately 7,500 persons are in residence on any day during a nine-week season, and a total of over 100,000 attend scheduled public events. Over 8,000 students enroll annually in the Chautauqua Summer Schools which offer courses in art, music, dance, theater, writing skills and a wide variety of special interests. <p> Machine located in the welcome center box office area. It's an easily accessible public area right at the main gate of the institution. You do not have to pay admission or parking to access. Accepts dollar bills only. <p> $1 per design Zinc pennies are dispensed from inside the machine. Three designs. All have 'Chautauqua institution EST 1874 Chautauqua, NY' on them. 'Chautauqua institution', logo, <br> 2) Clock tower, <br> 3) Bats. <p> 4/8/2024 unfortunately the provided pennies are from 2013 (Zinc). <br> The Clock Tower came out a little off center the first time. But was fine the second. <br> Not sure why but there is a weird wave on the back. I think the machine is a little weird. <p> 7/13/2026 Machine was flashing red where you enter the dollar bills. Machine would not accept money. Staff said it was working last week. The lady was so kind to give me change and sell me the pennies (which were a $1 each) from an envelope she had behind the ticket booth. So nice and so thankful parking is $5 if you park in the lot across the building. If you can a spot behind the admission building it's.30 minutes only. No admission needed.
