The gravel lining the bottom of the tank was recycled from World War II concrete which was torn down during the expansion. In 2012 the Haus des Meeres attracted a record high of 650,000 visitors.
Hours of operation: Daily 09:00 (9:00 am) to 20:00 (10:00 pm).
You must pay admission to enter. Adult €21,90, Child 6-15 years old (Children until 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult) €9,80, Small children 3-5 years old €6,50.
