It was founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau. For over 100 years it has been engaging children in joyful discovery experiences that instill an appreciation of our world, develop foundational skills, and spark a lifelong love of learning.
Hours of operation: Summer Hours (through Labor Day) Monday through Sunday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. On the first Saturday of each month, the Museum opens at 10:00 am. Hours are seasonal: call ahead to verify. May be closed on Tuesdays outside of summer hours.
Admission: You do not have to pay admission to access this machine. General admission to the Museum Adults $24, Children (1 to 15 years old) $24, Infants under 12 months are free. The Museum provides validation at four garages. Machine 5 (Placed 6/2025) is near security desk in front of the restrooms. Cost is $1.00 per roll. Machine accepts $1.00 bills and credit cards. You have the choice of charging $1.00 (one design) or $4.00 (all four designs), and after payment you will turn the crank to press pre-loaded zinc cents. If you pay for 4 rolls, you will turn the crank until all four designs are rolled. Designs all have a pennycollector.com beaded border with 'Boston Children's Museum':
