Neuhaus is one of the most esteemed names in the world of luxury chocolates. Established in 1857 by Jean Neuhaus, a Swiss pharmacist who had settled in Brussels, the company originally specialized in covering medicines with chocolate to make them more palatable. His grandson, Jean Neuhaus II, took this concept further and, in 1912, invented the first-ever praline—a chocolate shell filled with a soft, flavorful center. This innovation revolutionized the confectionery world and cemented Neuhaus as a pioneer in Belgian chocolate-making. Visiting a Neuhaus boutique is an experience in itself. From the moment customers step inside, they are welcomed by an enticing aroma of chocolate and a selection of beautifully arranged pralines, truffles, and gourmet treats. Many locations also offer chocolate tastings, allowing visitors to discover new flavors and appreciate the artistry behind each piece.
