The British army, supported by Tecumseh's Confederacy, failed to capture the fort during the Siege of Fort Meigs. It is named in honor of Ohio governor Return J. Meigs, Jr., for his support in providing General William Henry Harrison with militia and supplies for the line of forts along the Old Northwest frontier.
No fee to enter the Visitor Center or use the machine. A fee is required for entrance to the Fort and Museum.

The machine is inside the Visitor Center near the Front Entrance. All have 'Ohio's War of 1812, Fort Meigs Battlefield 1813' on them. Designs are:
1) Rifleman,
2) Woman wearing 1800s style hat,
3) Image of fort and wall,
4) Soldiers firing a cannon.
2/27/26: All except rifleman design rolled great! Machine is right inside of the building on the right side as you enter. For the Rifleman design, you need to put the dot marker about halfway past the actual design. If you put it on the marker exactly, you will receive a mis-press. Added photo of machine. |
