Hakone, Japan Website 7/4/25: Both machines are gone. The station got renovated, and they got rid of these 2 machines.
The Hakone Ropeway is the name of an aerial lift, as well as its operator. It links between Sounzan and Togendai via Owakudani, all within Hakone, Kanagawa, Japan. The line is the second of its kind in the nation, after Hashikurasan Ropeway. It makes a part of the sightseeing route between Odawara and Lake Ashi.
Two penny machines (three designs each- Hello Kitty and Hakone Ropeway themes) and one token machine are located in the Sounzan Station souvenir shop. There is also an engraving machine. The ropeway is currently closed but the route is open via substitute bus transportation for those with the Hakone Free Pass.
