Its 301-acre (122 ha) historic area includes several hundred restored or recreated buildings from the 18th century, when the city served as the capital of the colonial era Colony of Virginia. The district includes 17th-century, 19th-century, Colonial Revival, and more recent structures and reconstructions. The historic area includes three main thoroughfares and their connecting side streets, which are designed to represent how Williamsburg existed in the 18th century. 11/2/2025 - Penny machine #2 had an "out of order" sign on it. Costs $1 per design (machine provides penny). Only takes dollar bills or credit card. If you pay by credit card, will be charged for all 4 designs.
Token Machine #2 appeared to be working. Cost $5 per token or 3 for $15.
Both machines are located in the common area outside the gift shops.
Pewter tokens are located inside the gift shop (one without the sweets/candy for sale) and cost $2 each. They were out of stock of the fife and drum coin, so the cashier checked their inventory system and called another to store to see if they had any in stock ?? Great service!
