The museum has the world's largest collection of armored fighting vehicles and contains well over 880 vehicles, although the British Tank Museum has a larger number of tanks. Over 200 of the vehicles are fully functional, including the only surviving German Tiger II tank still in full working order. The museum is still a State institution funded by the Army. There is also a separate traditional horse cavalry museum in the town of Saumur.
Hours of operation: Friday through Wednesday 10.00 (10:00 am) to 17.00 (5:00 pm). Closed Thursdays.
Admission: Adult €11, Children (7 to 15 years old) €6. Parking in front.
Machine 2 is at the entrance to the Museum. Cost €1.05 (1 euro and 5 cent) for each. Designs all have a beaded border with 'Saumur Musée des Blindés'.
