It was reconstructed in the 1950's and went out of service in 1981. It was put back into service in 2006. The new funicular, much like the first, connects the lower town to the upper town. It is a beautiful panorama from the terrace and unique visuals at the moment you traverse through the tunnels and emerge from the cliffs.
Hours of operation: Monday through Sunday 24 hours. Funicular station: Monday through Sunday 07.45 (7:45 am) to 20.45 (8:45 pm).
Admission: Free. It is also free to ride the funicular. Parking across the street.
Machine 1 is a Euroscope dual function machine that presses euro cents OR dispenses a "Memodaille" token.
Machine 1 Eurocent is outside behind the Funicular upper station / Restaurant near the crucifix statue. Cost to press: €2.05 each design (A 2€ coin OR two 1€ coins only. Machine does not give change and a 5 Euro cent coin). Designs all have a beaded border with 'Le Treport':
1. (H) Le Tréport Lighthouse in front of chalk cliffs.
2. (H) Funicular descending to the lower station with 'Funiculaire'.
3. (H) Ship sailing past a Cathedral.
Machine 1 Token is outside behind the Funicular upper station / Restaurant near the crucifix statue. Cost to dispense: €2. The coin slot will accept one €2 coin OR two €1 coins. Machine does not give change. Design:
