Odawara, Japan, 250-0014 Website Originally built in 1447, Odawara Castle is a three-tiered, five-storied castle located in the city of the same name. Known for its floral-filled park complete with a mini train and small amusement park, the site is only an hour away from Tokyo, making it a convenient and fun place to get a sense of Japan's feudal history.
The machine is inside the entrance of the gift shop across from the castle, where the tickets for the vending machine are located. It has 2 designs that cost 200 Yen each, Designs are:
1) Hojo Soun
2) Odawara Castle
3) Umeko the Elephant
7/4/25: Thanks to Anton who pleaded to the shop manager to revive the retired design of the elephant in the machine, the third design on the machine is back!! Umeko the elephant at Odawara Castle died in 2009, so the shop got rid of the elephant design in their souvenir coin pressing machine. Now the third design of the machine, Umeko the elephant is back and ready to be pressed. Thank you, Anton!!! |
