The zoo offers a glimpse at many endangered species, including many endangered birds from around the world and small lemurs from Madagascar. The highlight of the zoo for many observers is the cougar, named Nashi. The zoo currently specializes in eight "worlds" of animals: cougars, lemurs, cranes, reindeer, macaws, wallabies, ratites, camelids. <p> Hours of operation: January through November, Wednesday through Sunday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm (or dusk during winter months). Reindeer Festival is November 28 through December 23 Wednesday through Sunday 10:30 am to 4:00 pm (or dusk), December 26 through 30 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. The Zoo is open Monday and Tuesday for pre-booked programs and events only: Contact for more information. Closed January 1, Thanksgiving Day, December 24, 25 and 31. <p> Admission: General (13+) $18, Senior (62+) $16, Children (3-12) $15, Under 3 is free.
