There, park staff can distribute maps and other park materials, provide directions and local area orientation, hand out Junior Ranger booklets, and answer any questions you might have about earth science, wildlife, history, and more. In this building, visitors may also explore museum exhibits, visit a working Fossil Preparation Lab, or stop by the park bookstore.
Hours of operation: Visitor Center Summer Hours: May 4 to October 4 Monday through Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Visitor Center Winter Hours: October 5 to May 3 Monday through Sunday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Badlands National Park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the winter, roads can be slick and icy. Check road conditions on your route before leaving for your trip. A South Dakota Pennybook for $5.99, Collectible Token album for $5.50, mini-tokens for $ 2.00 each and pennypalz magnets and keychains for $6.95 each are for are for sale in the Visitor Center gift shop. This park does not accept cash.
Admission: You have to pay park admission fees or have a National Parks pass to access the Visitor Center. Plenty of free parking.
