At the marble-and-glass headquarters of the National Geographic Society, this museum delves into archaeology and exploration of land and sea. The interactive Geographica exhibit is a highlight, allowing visitors to learn about primitive man, undersea life and the solar system. The 34-foot globe is said to be the largest in the world, and in the surrounding amphitheater, the Earth Station One show simulates space flight via high-tech special effects. METRO: Farragut North.

4/21/2023 - Despite the Explorer's Hall being closed for renovations, the gift shop is open and the machine is available just past the elevators.

4/7/26- Unable to locate. Amongst five employees, none ever heard of it and it's not in the new museum. All employed since 2025 and was blocked from asking for an employee who's worked there before 2023.
